Japanese CNC?

With the launch of easyCinema in the UK, an attempt to bring
airline-style staggered pricing schemes to cinema tickets, it was
reported that British cinemas average 20% occupancy. Has anybody seen
occupancy figures for Japan? They're a good comparison because London
can now exceed Tokyo in ticket prices. The last time I went to
Warner's flagship cinema, in February, a pair of tickets came to ?22
(US$35), over Y4200. And for Y2000, I want big explosions too. DVD
renting is booming here, and even rental stores in the suburbs have
their Miike titles.
