Donald Richie's Recovery

To All Friends & Fans of Donald Richie:

I'm delighted to report that Donald was discharged two days ago from the
hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida, where he underwent a long and complicated
open-heart surgery operation last week.  He is now resting and recovering at
the home of his sister.  I spoke to him on the telephone yesterday, and his
voice was as strong as ever, and his comments every bit as sharp!
As his sister Jean has said, "Being out of the hospital and able to make his
own choices has done a lot to lift his spirits."
Donald is eager to get back to Japan, but will not be able to travel for
several weeks at least.
