(Thinks back through Tron.) Can't remember any substantial analogy. I
suppose they're both set in virtual worlds, with heroes who gain power
over their environment. However, the same could be said of the hundreds
(I'm probably understating) of cyberpunk SF books that the Wachowskis
like. The Tron world does not deceive humans into thinking it's reality
(cut inevitable cheap comment about videogame otaku). Too many wire-
frames for starters.

Just look at any stylised anime fight where the characters are in frozen
poses. Hardly QED, but it strikes me as a plausible influence. Not that
I'm so fond of the convention myself...
