Nihon Eizo Gakkai Conference

The 29th annual conference of the Nihon Eizo Gakkai (Japan Society of 
Image Arts and Sciences) will be taking place on the weekend of May 31 
and June 1st in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture.

This conflicts with the Kinema Club conference (which is why I can't go 
to Hawaii), but for those of you stuck in Japan, especially in the Kansai 
region, there will be a symposium on "The Image and the Author" as well 
as a variety of papers, including some on bungei eiga, yakuza cinema, 
Terayama Shuji, TV dramas, Korean cinema, animation, digital media, film 
theory, etc.
