shin-chan haircut

  Ishihara Shintaro's "season of violence"(pub. 1955 'taiyou kisetsu') 
won the Akutagawa, had rebel youth appeal, but also spawned a popular 
haircut modeled on Shin-chan's own. Has anyone seen the hair-do? And 
did it show up in films like Oshima's Seishun zangoku monogatari 
(1960), other of the new waves, or underground films?
