Don't forget Katsuhito Ishii's "The Taste of Tea" ("Cha no
aji") in the Director's Fortnight program. The screening
schedule hasn't been posted on the official site yet, but
according to a news item in the media earlier this month,
this will also be the opening film of the program (the
first time a Japanese film has had the honours). Ishii
directed "Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl" and was
involved in the anime sequence in "Kill Bill" pt. 1.

I worked on the screenplay translation for this film and
it's a charmingly surreal effort, weighing in at almost
two and a half hours.

For those in Tokyo, there's a tea exhibition at Printemps
Ginza running Apr. 27th - May 5th, featuring visual
materials from the movie.
