The Incredibles = Mr. Incredible

A slightly off-topic, perhaps, but I am wondering why "The Incredibles" 
became "Mr. Incredible" in the Japanese version? I am interested in this 
from the perspective of translations and versioning. I have not seen the 
movie myself yet, but understand that it is not solely focused on one male 
hero? In that case, did the Japanese distributers want to change the first 
impression of the movie-goers? Or would the ortographic mix of roman letters 
and Japanese characters spoil the commercials somehow?
