Good question. if the shinsengumi boom can be related to
very practical contemporary political concerns, it is maybe
not that evident for the onmyoji one.Its appeal, even if
very nationalist too, does not rely on the same
values,imagery..yet it uses the same media for its
production-distribution-consumption (although I haven't
heard of a game on Onmyoji..), mostly among young people
(echoing the growth of nationalism among japanese youth).
