We can discuss the possibility of posting any of these papers on line,
but as with most workshops, the understanding is usually that these are
still works in progress and thus will be distributed only to those
participating in the workshop. For the time being, I suggest that you
contact the paper presenter personally to ask if he or she would be
willing to give you a copy of the paper.

Here are the papers. You can use the KineJapan membership list to find
e-mail addresses for these people.

--Tom Lamarre, ?Worlds without Others: Anime and the World-Making Power
of the Fetish?
--Satomi Saito, ?The Evolution of Anime Language: Anime Consumption?
--Daisuke Miyao, "Stardom and Japanese Modernity: Sessue Hayakawa and
the Pure Film Movement"
--Mark Anderson, "The Star System in Japanese Cinema"
--Michael Raine, "Non-intensive Mise-en-scene: Textual Analysis and
Japanese Popular Ephemera"
--Catherine Russell, "Naruse at P.C.L. (1935-37): The Moga and her
Sisters"
