Netflix is a good source of international films on
DVD. They seem to carry most of what is released, and
their rental service is easy to use. Facets Multimedia
has an amazing catalogue (both rental and purchase,
both DVD and VHS), but on the rental side they are a
lot less user-friendly than Netflix. Unfortunately,
there are many directors that are spottily represented
in the US DVD/VHS market in general -- for example,
there is only one Kiyoshi Kurosawa film (Cure) at both
Netflix and Facets.
