A Revived Shochiku?

Shochiku announced a bold plan to release 26 Japanese films in its 
line-up for 2004 and 2005. The studio, which had been suffering major 
losses at the end of the 1990s and was forced to sell its Ofuna studio 
and the land for its home office, had been concentrating more on 
distributing foreign films than on making Japanese films, but with 
major successes distributing Zatoichi and the Lord of the Rings films, 
it finally reported a significant profit for 2003.
