Some of you may have heard about the incident in Sasebo, Japan, in 
which an eleven-year-old girl purposely slit the throat of one of her 
friends at school, killing her. The wideshows and magazines have been 
filled with reports about the incident, becoming another of those 
"young people are different these days" events. Well, one thing that 
has emerged is that the eleven-year-old girl, who felt she was being 
ostracized in her class, began writing net diaries alluding to Battle 
Royale. Probably she has never seen the films or read the novels, but 
Toei just announced that because of the incident, it is delaying 
DVD/video release of an enhanced version of Battle Royale II featuring 
cut scenes and new CG (it was scheduled to go on sale in September). No 
announcement on when the DVD will actually be released.
