Upcoming Doc Encyclopedia

Greetings all,

There is a major encyclopedia in production on the documentary. The 
publisher is Routledge. I was a bit taken back when they issued their 
preferred topics, as Japan had a national cinema entry and another for 
Ichikawa Kon and that was about it!  Encyclopedias are enormously 
influential when it comes to canon building, and it behooves us to pay 
attention to them and influence them when we have the chance. Well, 
here is a chance.

The editors have asked for ten entry topics for Japanese documentary as 
well as the names of ten potential writers.  While I could do this 
unilaterally, I thought I would open this up to KineJapan and see what 
kind of list we could come up with together (and at the same time see 
if there are people out there interested in writing [for the usual 
small fee].

What kinds of entries do you think should make the List of Ten?
