Truman, who give the thumbs up for the bombing of nearly half the population of Japan, not just military installations, would be considered a war criminal by any stretch today.

This thing that goes on year after year about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki demonstrates the fact although 99.9 percent of all the documentation pertaining to the decision to drop the bomb is out there for anyone to read and analyze, we still have those that chose to remain ignorant of what kind of hell was taking place out there in asia and the pacific.
Before making any comment on the situation it would be well to read up on how many non-combatants and POW's were lanquishing in POW camps and internment camps throughout the Pacifice and Asia. Secondly you need to be informed on what the food situation in Japan and Indo China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, China and Manchuria was during those last years. With the continuation of the war further disruption on an already much destroyed rail and sea transport situation would have led to an even greater crisis of starvation of great numbers of the populations. The nearly million POW's the Japanese held couldn't have lasted another month. There are plenty of books out there, get one and read.
Maybe if you don't like the atomic bomb, them maybe you prefer starvation of innocents? War is hell and that war needed to end sooner than it did. Many survivors and those that didn't have to continue fighting today thank God for Harry Truman.
