We've just had exactly the same thing on English TV. Sky and Channel 4 have
both been running a number of programmes that have introduced the conspiracy
theories. I don't really see what is so tastless though. Given the lack of
information from the US Government about how airplanes were allowed to fly
off course in US airspace without being challenged for over an hour, the
sheer number of people involved in the bombings (yet Secret Services knew
nothing) and the need to secure oil supplies from the middle east, it is not
surprising conspiracy theories sping up. On one of the documentaires here,
one of the 9/11 commission made the point that the conspriacy theories
helped as it provided avenues and leads to follow.
I don't believe any of them by the way. The US government is just
incompetent.
