Japanese film industry all but dead

I would say "potential" is just a bit of an understatement.

  I agree about the Japanese (Non-animated) Film Industry being nearly dead, but for me a hopeful star with potential is the director Takashi Miike. Not that his films so far were perfect, but I don't see any other japanese director at the moment with that much drive, courage and innovation.
