For an animated film that really captures the feel of Tokyo, try _Tokyo
Godfathers_ by Furuya Shogo and Kon Satoshi. I also thought that _Yume
nara samete_ by Sato Toshiki (known as "Perfect Blue") gave a pretty good
feel for some of the residential areas of what could be almost any large
city in Japan, and for a very good presentation of Shinjuku Station, try
the first few minutes of _Jisatsu saakuru_ (Suicide Club) by Sono
Shion--just remember to hit STOP as soon as the train comes in the
station!
