Japan DVD/VCD store in neighbouring Malaysia

hi guys,

just to give additional perspective on what sort of
japanese film DVD/VCDs are available in malaysia, the
official situation is just as bleak, if not worse.

basically the same sort of titles as in HMV in
Singapore (which had Twilight Samurai too at one
stage, i remember) but maybe 50% of that range, mostly
those horror titles.

on the other hand, the pirated DVD scene is somewhat
thriving (if you know where to go)! I've seen

Ichi The Killer
Versus
Dead or Alive 2
Dead or Alive Final
Audition
Zatoichi
Battle Royale
Battle Royale 2
Sharkskin Man & Peach-hip Girl
Kagemusha
Madadayo
and then some more (and yes, the usual softcore n
hardcore porn too!)

these pirates really know their titles sometimes, and
probably more stuff like that out there if one really
scour around regularly. there's a fine art to sourcing
them my friend tells me. and they're just 4USD each.

on the other hand, you can practically get any anime
series or movie you want at any of the many, many
anime specialist shops these days. i suppose they must
be bootleg or what, but very good quality with bonus
material intact.

for example, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
series and its sequel series 2nd Gig are here already.

used to be starved of all these stuff just a year or
two ago...

Jaki, if you can be bothered to zip over to Johore
Bahru from Singapore, you might get lucky. or if you
care to drop into KL, i can certainly show you where.

feel so guilty patronising these pirates.... oh well!
