Dear Fergus,

The Kono Takashi exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art 
earlier this year (January-February 2005)  had many of his film posters 
from the early 1930s on display, and these have been reproduced in the 
catalogue. Kono's work is rather different from that of the poster 
image you attached, but it might be of use to you.
