Doraemon Redux

Doraemon just got a make-over. The cast of seiyu that have done the 
voices of the main characters since time began have been sacked, 
replaced by young'uns who don't sound all that different. The new 
voices were clearly chosen to be similar enough not to alienate fans, 
but I must say the new Doraemon voice is less gravely, less grating, 
and thus far less interesting.

Curiously enough, along with the change in voices came a retrofit of 
the drawing. The character design clearly evokes the early days of the 
manga and tv program. This is a more enjoyable change, but I suppose 
they had to do something about the voice actors before someone died.
