The Winter 2005 issue (no. 410) of Eiga geijutsu is out with the
results of their poll of critics of the best ten films of 2004. I
announced the actual ranking earlier, but what was interesting is that
the top three films:
> 1) Yuda (Zeze Takahisa)
> 2) Chi to hone (Sai Yoichi)
> 3) Dare mo shiranai (Koreeda Hirokazu)
were separated by only two votes: 98 for Yuda, 97 for Chi, and 96 for
Dare mo. As I predicted, Dare mo was hurt by worst ten votes, which are
subtracted from best ten votes (it would have come in first otherwise).
The results of the poll for the Worst Ten films of 2005 were also
announced:
1) Sekai no chushin de, ai o sakebu (Yukisada Isao)
2) Kakushiken, oni no tsumi (Yamada Yoji)
3) Shinibana (Inudo Isshin)
4) Kyo no dekigoto (Yukisada Isao)
4) Dare mo shiranai (Koreeda Hirokazu)
6) Devilman (Nasu Hiroyuki)
7) Akai tsuki (Furuhata Yasuo)
7) Steamboy (Otomo Katsuhiro)
9) Ima, ai ni yukimasu (Doi Nobuhiro)
9) Chi to hone (Sai Yoichi)
