The Electronic Journal of Contemporary Japanese Studies (ejcjs,
http://www.japanesestudies.org.uk/contents/intro.html) is seeking articles
and discussion papers on Japanese films, as part of its expanded areas of
inquiry into modern Japan. Papers dealing with any aspect of cinema are
welcome, including, but in no way limited to: interdisciplinary approaches
to film scholarship; using film in the classroom; western theoretical
approaches to film; feminist issues; the film industry; international
reception of Japanese film; anime; genre studies, etc. Please refer to the
journal's Website for format guidelines, and for peer-review options for
articles.

We are also seeking reviews of Japanese films and publications about film
for a new Review section. Reviews should be 2-3000 words long, and should
appeal to a general readership. We are interested in reviews of any type
of film: classic, overlooked works, new releases, newly-released DVD
editions, etc.

Submissions should be made as email attachments in plain text, HTML, or MS
Word format. Please address submissions to Timothy Iles, at
timiles at uvic.ca. Please mention ejcjs in the subject line of the message.

Many thanks,

Tim Iles
