Self-introduction, and a request for suggestions

Hi Irene,
You might want to take a look at a travelogue made by Benjamin Brodsky 
called "Beautiful Japan" (1918). I think the documentary footage would be 
interesting to you, especially since the film is about traveling around 
Japan, and has some footage of Yokohama, Hokkaido, and Shizuoka prefecture, 
which is where Mt. Fuji is.

An 15 minute excerpt of this film is available in DVD entitled  _Treasures 
from American Film Archives_ from the National Film Preservation Foundation 
(2000). This particular excerpt is in Vol. 4.  cf.  www.filmpreservation.org
The original film is 2 hours long, and it probably is worth checking with 
the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History, which made 
the preservation copy, if they allow access to the entire film.
