Here's my self-introduction

Name: Ayako Saito 

Institutional affiliation or employment: Department of Art Studies, Meiji
Gakuin University

City and country: Tokyo, Japan

Research projects or publications: I have published articles on Hitchcock,
film noir, Godard, Kinoshita Keisuke, Mizoguchi Kenji, Masumura Yasuzo and
Wakao Ayako, Takakura Ken and Yakuza Eiga, Yoshida Kiju, and have translated
Laura Mulvey's visual pleasure essay and Teresa de Lauretis's Rethinking
Women's cinema into Japanese.

Interests with regard to Japanese film and moving image media:
representations of women in Japanese cinema in general, especially the
postwar historical trauma and gender representations

I'm not really a Japanese cinema specialist, but for the last several years
I've been writing more on Japanese cinema.
