Thanks, Mark, that's great news about Prof. Yomota. I wonder if there 
is an abstract for his paper at the KineJapan conference on the 
Kinema Club site? The search function there is frustrating.

If anyone knows of any articles about the whole Japanese tanuki 
musical tradition, I'm still eager to hear from you!
