As far as I know, Kogyo Tsushin collects daily box office data, but the only
thing they make public is the weekend RANKING. You have to subscribe to
them for a fee to get the entire data. Some websites quote this data
from time to time, and I sometimes pick up those numbers from various
sites to write articles. You can go to Kogyo Tsushin website's "About
Kogyo Tsushin" to subscribe.
Box Office Mojo also has weekly data in their international section, but
I think that some obvious titles are missing, and it is not so reliable.
For the historical data for the ones that made more than 1 billion yen,
you can find the list on Motion Picture Producers Associations of Japan
website. They have the list all the way back to 1980 in Japanese pages,
but only 2004/05 lists are available in English.
