Shimikin

Phew, time to change the subject I think!

Two early Kawashima films, made in 1948 and 1949
respectively, are called, according to the JMDB,
Shimikin no O Shimin Shokun and Shimikin no supotsu o.
When Kawashima filmographies have been romanised, the
"Shimikin no" part is invariably dropped, and these
titles have been rendered in English simply as O!
Citizens and King of Sports. Can anyone confirm which
Shimikin refers to? Is it the name of the star actor,
a clown like Enoken? This was my guess, but no
"Shimikin" is listed on the JMDB credits. Does anyone
have any ideas?
