As a special event to mark the Tokyo meeting of FIAF (Fédération
International des Archives du Film), the National Film Center and
Asahi Shinbun (Asahi News) are sponsoring a special screening of a
newly restored A Page of Madness. The event will take place at Asahi
Yuraku-cho Hall on Sunday 8 April, 2007 at 19:30. (All seats
reserved.) This new restoration is similar to the print currently in
circulation; both derive from a print of the film found in Kinugasa's
house in 1971, a print that is believed to be a shortened version of
the 1926 original. This new restoration, however, returns the film
to the original aspect ratio common in the "silent" era, 1:1.33 The
screening features piano accompaniment by Takahashi Yuuji.
