A Page of Madness/ Special Screening

As a special event to mark the Tokyo meeting of FIAF (Fédération  
International des Archives du Film), the National Film Center and  
Asahi Shinbun (Asahi News) are sponsoring a special screening of a  
newly restored A Page of Madness.  The event will take place at Asahi  
Yuraku-cho Hall on Sunday 8 April, 2007 at 19:30. (All seats  
reserved.) This new restoration is similar to the print currently in  
circulation; both derive from a print of the film found in Kinugasa's  
house in 1971, a print that is believed to be a shortened version of  
the 1926 original.  This new restoration, however, returns the film  
to the original aspect ratio common in the "silent" era, 1:1.33  The  
screening features piano accompaniment by Takahashi Yuuji.
