The most famous example is probably Maro Akaji, who has appeared in 
dozens and dozens of films, including some, like Kikujiro and Monday, 
where he actually does some of his dances. He also appears in the 
directorial debut of eldest son, Omori Tatsushi (Whispering of the 
Gods), a film that also features his second son, the actor Omori Nao 
(of Ichi the Killer and Vibrator fame).
