 From July 13 to 16, a major media studies conference, entitled 
Ubiquitous Media: Asian Transformations, will be held at Tokyo 
University. Prominent scholars such as Friedrich Kittler, Shigehiko 
Hasumi, Rem Koolhas, Bernard Stiegler, Asada Akira and others will 
serve as plenary speakers and there are literally hundreds of papers 
being presented, including many on film, anime and TV. You can check
