11 jam-packed days of over 80 films by Japan's hottest directors!
Japan Society's first annual large-scale film festival brings a
sizable slice of Japan's dynamic contemporary film culture to New
York City.
LONG CUTS
Over 15 U.S. and New York premieres of the best in feature films from
Japan, from blockbusters, cutting-edge independent films and
animation, to documentaries.
Co-presented with New York Asian Film Festival from July 5-8.
SHORT CUTS
Short films from the forefront of Japan's emerging independent
filmmakers and video artists. FREE ADMISSION.
NY-JAPAN CUTS
Film screenings and a Networking Salon for New York and Japan-based
filmmakers.
TURTLE BAY CUTS
Gamera the Brave (Gamera - Chisaki yusha-tachi)
A complimentary screening for the neighborhood of Turtle Bay and
beyond, for the entire family to enjoy. FREE ADMISSION.

DISCUSSION
Miwa Nishikawa & Naoko Ogigami, two leading directors, discuss their
filmmaking process as it relates to an industry undergoing drastic
