Dear KineJapanners,
Since we're on the subject of translation, I thought I might ask for
your assistance. I'm trying to find a good title for Hara Kazuo's
Fumikoeru Kyamera. The title, as well as Hara's work, is suggestive
of a transgression of boundaries, in my opinion. Fumikoeru, I take,
then, in the sense of overstepping/crossing over/pushing. But I'm
really struggling for a useful title in English.
It's crasser and more colloquial than the Japanese, but I'm tempted
to use something like "The Camera in Your Face." "The Transgressive
Camera" is also possible. I'd be really grateful for any help with
this.
Yours sincerely,
Jonathan
