Kawase at Cannes

It seems that whenever I turn on the TV, Kawase is on it. With all the
stories of crime in the family, it seems the media is really picking up
on her and a movie about "family."

In a curious bit of fate, although Mogari no mori is expected to have
only a small run in Japan starting June 23 (again due to oligopolistic
practices in exhibition and distribution), it will show on TV in Japan
on May 29 on NHK Hi-Vision. This was scheduled before the Cannes award.
It seems they didn't expect much at the box office and thus agreed to
NHK's request. But since it is on Hi-Vision, it will probably not
affect the theater box office much.
