Some of you may have noticed this already, but the Daily Yomiuri  
"revamped" its weekend section--which is where they run their film  
reviews--at the beginning of September. The ostensible reason was to  
give more focus on other pop culture media, but the result has been a  
drastic reduction in film reviews and less space for everything.  
Because of this, I have only written one film review over the last  
two months (despite asking to write about many more than that) and  
there are no prospects for me to write another one any time soon. I  
hate to say that the Yomiuri has given up on cinema--and especially  
Japanese cinema--but that has been the effect. It is very unfortunate.
