new "youth film'?

Perhaps some of our members living in Japan could verify this, but I've read
that baseball is in a bit of slump right now in Japan. Due to a lot of the
big players being snatched up by MLB, the sport has suffered with declining
viewership and attendence, in addition to a lack of corporate sponsors for
the teams themselves.

Kumakiri's *Green Mind Metal Bats* seems to be a film that takes the element
of baseball and uses it as a subject of failure and disappointment.
