Description:
Currently playing to sellout crowds across Japan, Climber?s High dramatizes
 the
events immediately following the 1985 crash of the JAL jumbo jet in the Japan
Alps that killed 520 people. Focusing on the local newspaper reporters who
scrambled to collect information and break the news to the world, the film
skirts the grisly aspects of the crash in favor of capturing the tension and
drama in the newsroom. Leading the news team is maverick reporter Yuki
(Shinichi
Tsutsumi), who must overcome the challenges of the remote location,
incomplete
coverage, newsroom feuds and power struggles with the national media to
get the
story out.  Every summer, families of the victims of the worst
single-plane disaster in
history climb Osutaka Ridge in Gunma Prefecture to console the spirits of the
dead. This year, the crew of Climber?s High will join them.
