VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE/FILM

The East Asian Studies Program at Oberlin College invites applications for a 
full-time, one-semester, non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts

and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one semester, 
beginning fall semester, 2009, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant 
Professor.

The incumbent will teach in the area of Japanese language and Japanese 
literature or film. The incumbent will teach two courses of Japanese language 
and one course in Japanese literature or film (for a total of three courses).

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree in hand 
or expected by first semester of academic year 2009; native or near-native 
fluency in Japanese and English; and ability to teach Japanese at all 
undergraduate levels. Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential 
excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the 
college level is desirable.
