First, I should apologie for my english,

I´m just a japanese cinema "aficionado" from Spain, but seeing those numbers
form the MPPA of Japan I can only think of being looking just a part of the
picture. With the new distribution channels, movies don´t relay as much as
they used to in the theather run. Does the MPPA of Japan release any number
regarding DVD sales and rentals, VOD, TV runs, cable, etc?

If I recall correctly the USA box office has remain revereal year now in the
sub 10 billon mark (9,8 was 2007 number I think). Also the DVD sales/rentals
slowly declined (23 billions). In the other hand downloadeable market
experimented a healthy growth (0,6 bill to a estmation of 1,6 in 2008), also
the HD movies market appeared in the radar (a mere 0,3 bill). It would be
interesting to see the trend in those and other new areas in Japan.

The figures realeased shouldn´t worry the MPPA. Toho just missed 4 bill in
one of their top 5 movies. 15 movies in both years above 2 bill and 29
(2007) vs 28 (2006) movies above 1 bill. Good health and good trend to
continue.

Once again, excuse my english.
