This sounds interesting -- I find it fascinating that there is a huge 
"undercover" side to the Japanese-Brazilian emi/immigration.

 Everytime I leave Narita headed to the eastern U.S. through Delta (a 
gateway flight to Brazil) I am amazed at the amount of ethnic (and native) 
Japanese I see holding Brazilian and Japanese passports (even though Japan 
does not allow dual citizenship as we all know).
