> it does> seem a strange film to fuel a wine boom though: isn't the wine> obsession a sign of the character's narcissism, or something?> Cinephiles beware ...That was what I loved about the film though - one was a narcissistic pseudo-aesthete, the other character just wanted to spend the film getting drunk and laid. Wine was merely the catalyst. Sounds like a pretty good advert to me.The thing that slightly concerns me is that its Fuji TV production, not a small indie work, so it could potentially be twee and awful and in no way an organic transplantation of the original source material - the image of a vintage car is already sounding warning alarms in my mind.... No one seems to have mentioned the other obvious thing I noticed about the film - it's directed by an American, like a sort of reversal of Nakata going to America to direct a sequel to the remake of his own film. Its all very strange.
