Hello, it's been a while (almost a Ph.D. ago) since I introduced  
myself on the list. I've just finished my dissertation in the history  
and theory of architecture program at McGill University (benefiting  
from the very generous advice of Tom Lamarre).

My dissertation dealt with Lang's, Tezuka's, and Rintarô's versions of  
Metropolis, and I'm interested in the image of the city and  
architecture in film and anime, as well as the use of visual imaging  
in architectural design. My thesis also touched on Tekkon Kinkreet,  
and I'd like to research the film a little further by getting in touch  
with Michael Arias or others. I've tried to get his contact  
information through a few different channels, but so far no luck. If  
anyone could help with this (by answering off-list) I'd greatly  
appreciate it.
