Not directly related to H-Bomb except for his surprising epiloque, i would strongly recommand Obayashi's Noyuki yamayuki umibe yuki as a great & unusual anti-war drama. I'm curious this ATG one never get a better attention abroad (and maybe within Japan?)

Are you thinking of Kuroki Kazuo's film, titled appropriately, "Ashita"? I see it was produced in 1988, but that's what it depicted. I thought it was quite a fine film.
