Some of you or people you know might be interested in the following job:

The Departments of Modern Languages and Literatures and Asian Studies 
of Furman University invite applications for a one-year replacement 
position at the assistant professor or instructor level in Japanese 
language and Asian studies to begin August 2009 and end in early May 
2010. The appointee will teach Elementary Japanese, supervise the 
Japanese Language House, and teach two courses in English in his/her 
specialization such as literature, culture, film studies, or gender 
studies. Qualifications include native or near-native fluency in 
Japanese and English; ABD, or Ph.D. in Japanese language, literature, 
culture, film studies, gender studies or other related fields; 
commitment to undergraduate education. Preference will be given to 
those with elementary language teaching experience at the college 
level. Letter of application, CV, and three letters of recommendation 
by March 20, 2009 to: Professor Shusuke Yagi, MLL Dept., Furman 
University, Greenville, SC 29613. We will interview at the AAS Meetings 
in Chicago March 26- 29, 2009. Furman is an Equal
