JAPANESE STUDIES
Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year replacement
position in Japanese Studies at the assistant professor level
beginning in August 2009. Native or near-native proficiency in
Japanese and English is required. Preference given to those with a
Ph.D. in Japanese language and literature or film studies; experience
teaching all levels of languages; and familiarity with or experience
at liberal arts colleges.
Send letter of application and CV and have three recent reference
letters sent to: Japanese One Year Search, Box 441, Gettysburg
College, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Letters of recommendation must be sent
by the recommenders or by placement center. No application materials
accepted by email. Review of applications begins March 2nd and
continues until the position is filled. Those who applied this year
for the College's tenure-track position in Japanese may request by
letter that they wish to be considered for this one-year position.
