"Slow Boat to China"
Director Kaizo Hayashi talks about filmmaking and Japan's search of  
new cultural identity through the interaction with other Asian film  
cultures at Seikei University.

Place: Main Hall 2nd Floor, Seikei University, Tokyo
Time: June 9th 2009 from 4:30 to 6 PM.

Brief Description:
The title of the event is "Slow Boat to China: In Search of Japan's  
Cultural Identity" and it consists of two parts. In the first part  
Kaizo Hayashi will share his experience as an independent filmmaker  
working in both Japan and Pan-Asian regions. The second part would be  
a dialogue exploring the topics related to Japan's search of new  
cultural identity from perspectives within Asia (instead of the West)  
by Kaizo Hayashi, Toshifumi Miyawaki and Leo C. Chen.
