Hello everyone,
Thank you for your ongoing discussions and announcements. I am currently
writing a paper on gender in the Japanese anti-war film and I would
really appreciate if you could tell me how to find a few films I didn't
manage to find on amazon or yesasia. I am looking for War and Peace
(Sensou to heiwa, Imai Tadashi, 1947), Tower of Lilies (Himeyuri no tou,
Imai Tadashi, 1953), The Thick-Wall Room (Kabe atsuhiki no heya,
Kobayashi Masaki, 1953) and Youth of Japan (Kobayashi Masaki, 1968). The
other films I can get are
Mata Au Hi Made (Imai Tadashi, 1950)
No regrets for our Youth (Kurosawa Akira, 1946)
Ningen no Joken (Kobayashi Masaki, 1959)
Karumen Junjosu (Kinoshita Keisuke, 1952)
Nijushi no Hitomi (Kinoshita Keisuke, 1954)
Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Oshima Nagisa, 1983)
Nagasaki no Kane (Oba Hideo, 1950)
Genbaku no Ko (Shindo Kaneto, 1952)
Nihon no Ichiban Nagai Hi (Yamamoto Kihachi, 1967)
Under the Flag of the Rising Sun (Tamba Tetsurou, 1972)
Red Angel (Akai tenshi, masumura yasuzo, 1966)
Any other advice on films or readings is welcome.
Best regards,
