Hmm, Jasper's quick hit puzzles. me. Maybe KineJapanners will rush
to see it! It could be good material for a study in remakes.
Or in trans-Pacific productions. Foreign directors in the Japanese
studio system. So I happily stand corrected.
But, I do want to put my opinion more directly: I saw the Japanese
film. Dross is the best way to translate it into English.
I couldn't care less about the original--and didn't reference it in
my post.
I care for good films, remakes or not. There are many far more
interesting bad films to see.
