Anti-militarist movies about 'kamikaze'

Dear Martin,

I have my strong doubts as to whether you can call Ningen gyorai kaiten
an anti-militarist movie. It is very much part of the post-Occupation
war movie genre produced by Shin-Toho that rather glorifies than
criticizes the Japanese war effort. The similarity in story, message and
style conventions with wartime propaganda films is striking and before
long these new war films feature wartime idiom such as Gunshin (military
god) and Dai-Toa Senso (Greater East asian War) in their titles.

Regards,
