Hanafuda movies

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED is Hibotan Bakuto #6: Tekkaba Retsuden (1969 Yamashita Kosaku) which features two nice long interesting hanafuda scenes with visible cards -- in one, Fuji Junko as the Red Peony is literally playing for her life!  (Tsuruta Koji lets her win!, and we can see his card-palming
 clearly.)  It's a great film, more orthodox than Pale Flower, very ritualized yakuza genre.  At present the Red Peony series is coming out on Japanese DVD, altho' I'm not sure how far they've gone on it.  You should be able to find them on Amazon Japan.  (VTRs are still easy to get on Yahoo
 Auction.) There is an English-subbed DVD version available thru Ebay with non-native but comprehensible titles.  For more info on latter, contact me offlist.  FB
