KCX Book Workshop Call for Manuscripts & Film Discussions

Kinema Club will hold its 10th outing at Honolulu from July 30-August  
1. The conference will feature 30 papers delivered on Friday and  
Saturday. On Sunday, there will be two rooms running simultaneous  
events.

One room will feature a film presentation, followed by an open  
discussion with the entire conference. Please send your suggestions  
for films, television programs, or videos to the addresses below. The  
work should be available with English subtitles.

The other room will hold a book manuscript workshop: one manuscript  
will be chosen from among the submissions. It will be distributed to  
the conference participants for pre-reading via pdf. At Kinema Club,  
it will be workshopped for 90 minutes, providing feedback to the  
author as s/he prepares it for peer review. (The workshop will end in  
time for participants to move to the post-film discussion in the other  
room.)

If you would like to submit your manuscript for consideration, please  
send an abstract or prospectus to Aaron Gerow (aaron.gerow at yale.edu)  
and A. M. Nornes (amnornes at umich.edu). The manuscript must be  
basically complete and ready for distribution by April 15.
